The goal of this 2-part series is to: 1) provide participants with an overview of The New Art and Science of Teaching, an instructional framework developed by the Marzano Research Institute, and 2) introduce participants to targeted and supportive instructional coaching strategies.
Part 1: Introduction to Marzano’s New Art and Science of Teaching
In this workshop, participants will learn about Marzano’s instructional framework. The framework identifies 43 elements of effective and engaging instruction, ten design questions to ask as you plan your lessons, and three key components of every lesson plan. Through the use of this framework, instructors will be able to clearly define student outcomes and craft tangible, measurable benchmarks to indicate students’ progress towards mastery of new skills.
